On Saturday 2 May, Ruby Havens hosted its inaugural Chicken Run fundraiser and awareness event at The Apprentice on the Old Airport Road. The morning featured both 2.5km and 5km routes, drawing participants of all ages in support of the cause.The event aimed to show the important work done by Ruby Havens, which provides a safe and nurturing home for children who have been abandoned, live with special needs, or come from difficult circumstances. Directors Jim Moomey and Lyn Moomey launched Ruby Havens in 2016. Funds raised from Saturday will go towards sustaining the home and ensuring continued care for the children.
